Regulations on III Russian as a foreign language Olympiad

The third Russian as a foreign language Olympiad is held by the school of learning Russian as a foreign language RFL RUS. It is aimed at promoting the Russian language among foreign citizens and acquainting them with Russian culture and traditions.

The third Russian as a foreign language Olympiad is organised by the school of learning Russian as a foreign language RFL RUS.

Zlatoust Publishing House acts as a partner of the second Russian as a foreign language Olympiad.

 

Procedures and timelines for the Olympiad

The third Russian as a foreign language Olympiad includes 2 rounds.

1 round  takes place from February 1 until March 19 2018.

A participant takes a test which includes 50 questions. The test consists of 3 modules (lexis, grammar and reading). 40 minutes is given for the test of the first round. The test is taken online on the website www.rflrus.com after the pre-registration procedure. The level of the test is B1 (the first certification level). According to results of the first round 10-20 participants with the highest number of correct answers will be selected.

On March 20 the list of Olympiad participants who progress to the 2nd round will be published on the official site of the school of learning Russian as a foreign language RFL RUS www.rflrus.com.

Participants of the second round have to send their videos with a monologue on the topic “One of traditional Russian holiday” to the email address rus.ihvoronezh@gmail.com  between March 20 and April 2.

 

Video requirements

It is desirable that the footage is filmed in high resolution with a good image and sound quality,  it makes the video more competitive. The duration is to be up to 1 minute (not more than 1 minute and 10 seconds).

 

2 round takes place from  April 2 until May 10 2018.

All videos will be published on April 3 on the website of the school of learning Russian as a foreign language RFL RUS www.rflrus.com. Then the vote period will start on the official website and YouTube channel. The participant whose video gets the highest number of “likes” will be declared the winner of the Olympiad and will get the main prize.

The second and third places will be announced by counting the overall number of votes (“likes”) on  the websites www.rflrus.com and www.youtube.com.

Moreover, in the 2nd round the jury will choose one candidate to be rewarded with a special prize of the jury.

Prizes

1st place - 2 weeks of free study at the school of learning Russian as a foreign language RFL RUS between July 30 and  August 12 2018;

 The first place winners will be rewarded with a textbook and 5% discount on Zlatoust Publishing House books (through the Internet).

2nd place - 70% discount for learning Russian as a foreign language at RFL RUS

School between July 30 and August 12 2018;

The second place winner will be rewarded a leveled book (a reader) and 5% discount on Zlatoust Publishing House books (through the Internet)

3d place – 50%  discount for learning Russian as a foreign language at RFL RUS

School between July 30 and August 12 2018;

The third place winner will be rewarded a leveled book (a reader) and 5% discount on Zlatoust Publishing House books (through the Internet)

All participants of the 2nd round will get 20% discount for learning Russian as a foreign language (General Russian course) at RFL RUS School and 5% discount on Zlatoust Publishing House books (through the Internet).

Studying at school means lessons of Russian as a foreign language and doesn't include flight, transfer and accommodation costs. Prizes can not be redeemed for cash.

The Olympiad participants

Only foreign citizens who have reached the age of 18 years and live within the borders of the Russian Federation or abroad can take part in the Olympiad.
